A Brief History of Van Gogh Vodka

history

Van Gogh Vodka started as Luctor International in 1997 and initially produced only a gin called Leyden. Within two years, it was replaced by Van Gogh Gin. Van Gogh released its first vodka in 2000.

In 2008, the company changed its name to Van Gogh Imports. Although the Van Gogh clear vodka is a quality product that is enjoyed by many, the company considers itself the leader in producing Flavored Vodka.

80% of its business is made up of flavored vodka varieties.

How is Van Gogh Vodka made?

Van Gogh Vodka is distilled at The Royal Dirkzwager Distillery, which has been involved in the distillation process for more than 100 years. Vodka is produced under the guidance of a third-generation distiller, Tim Vos.

A high-quality vodka is produced from a premium blend of wheat sourced from Holland, Germany, and France. Small batches are distilled twice in column stills, and then a third time in a traditional copper pot still.

Only the heat of each distillation is used to produce the vodka. After the final distillation, the resulting alcohol will have a high ABV (alcohol by volume).

Water is then added to the final distilled product to reduce it to the desired ABV, which IS 40% AVB for the United States.

Van Gogh has gained a reputation for being the master of flavors when it comes to flavor-infused vodka. Each of the flavors undergoes an all-natural double infusion process, giving the vodka its signature flavor.
