Wine festivals in Maine are a fun way to get out and enjoy yourself while having other sources of entertainment available for the family.

These festivals often have entertainment for children, a wide variety of food to enjoy along with your beverages, and other drink options if you are not necessarily a fan of wine.

1. Maine Wild Wine Fest

  • Date: May 21st, 2022
  • Time: Window A: 10:30 to 13:30. Window B: 13:30 to 16:00
  • Tickets: $50 per person

Maine Wild Wine Fest was organized by Ned Swaine and Margot Mazur with the 2022 event being the inaugural edition. The organizers are hoping to continue hosting this event going forward so keep a look out on their website if you are interested.

The point of this event is to encourage the purchase and consumption of natural wine. This helps with the understanding of where your food comes from and to encourage buying locally sourced wines.

If there is a shortage of locally sourced, natural wine, wine importers will have offerings available.

Winemakers will have their wine offering available for the day with a range of providers including Donkey and Goat, Iapetus, Bluet, and ten other winemakers available for the day.

Importers of wine will similarly have samplings available with Josefa of Louis Dressner Selections, Selections de la Vina, and Artisanal Cellars being among those available.

Another eleven wine importers will have offerings available for visitors to enjoy.

2. Uncork Me – Maine 2022

  • Tickets: $10 – $55

Uncork Me is an event run by the Brothers Molloy Events. This will be the second occasion of the event with hopes for it to continue annually.

As an Unlimited Wine Tasting Festival, attendees must be 21 years or older. Designated drivers will be able to get their tickets for $10 as opposed to the $55 ticket for drinking attendees to encourage safe driving.

Live entertainment will be provided by “Keys to the City” dueling pianists which visitors can listen to while enjoying a commemorative sampling glass. Unlimited wine tasting will occur from 15:00 – 18:00 with the option for visitors to purchase a bottle of wine from the vendors.

Food will be available with a wide range of options including fried green tomatoes, hot stuffed pretzels, fried mozzarella sticks, popcorn shrimp, and three other options available.

Games will also be available for extra entertainment including cornhole and giant Jenga which should give visitors a fun experience.

Participating wineries and breweries are Tree Spirits, Norumbega Cidery, Eighteen Twenty Wines, The Fat Friars Mead, Blue Lobster Urban Winery, and several more.

There should be more than enough variety between the beverage options available to provide a choice for everyone.

3. Portland Uncorked 2022

  • Tickets: $30

Portland Uncorked is an annual fundraising event where all proceeds generated during the event go towards an ongoing drinking water project in Ecuador.

A portion of the proceeds also goes towards local community work, striving to take care of the local community and its projects.

Included in the ticket price are free appetizers sponsored by Lake Region Caterers Inc and beverages provided by local wine vendors. For those who are not necessarily wine drinkers, local beers will also be available to drink.

The event is run by Engineers Without Borders. These engineers are a group of students who have an interest in improving the quality of life within local areas and developing countries using sustainable engineering projects.

Entertainment will come in the form of music, a silent auction with a host of prizes up for grabs, and a raffle that visitors can enter.

4. Autumn Equinox at Maine Audubon

  • Date: September 22, 2022
  • Time: 16:00 – 19:00
  • Tickets: $12 – $75

The 5th annual Autumn Equinox will be held at Maine Audubon, presented by the Portside Real Estate Group. This event will take place among the rolling meadows and sanctuary of Maine Audubon and is sure to be a fun way to start the next season.

Food will be available from a range of food trucks that should have an option available for everyone. This food will pair well with the beer and wine available from local sources.

Each ticket will entitle the visitors to a complimentary drink voucher, food, lawn games, and live music.

As a family-friendly event, this is something for the whole family to enjoy. Music will create the perfect ambiance for the evening while adults can enjoy the alcoholic beverages available, and children can take part in games on the lawn.
