10 Halloween Candy & Wine Pairings – For A Special Trick or Treat

Once the last trick-or-treater has rung the doorbell, the lights of have been turned off and the clock strikes midnight, Halloween will officially be over. The only thing left to do is take stock of the leftover candy or dig through your own trick-or-treater’s bag. Why not enjoy a glass of wine with the loot you (or your child) earned?

According to Jordan Mackay from CHOW:

wine should always be sweeter than the candy or dessert you’re pairing.

Based on some fun research, we have compiled a list of Halloween wine pairings that may be frighteningly good as a last hoorah to Halloween.

Halloween Wine & Candy Pairings

The high acidity in Chenin Blanc offsets the sweetness in Jollyranchers.

The bitter dark chocolate in Hershey’s makes a statement with the powerful red Syrah.
