The only way to describe DIGITS bourbon is that it is the sophisticated relative of whiskey. It is known as a type of American whiskey. Bourbon is made by being barrel-aged and primarily from corn.

The name bourbon was not applied until the 1850s, whereas now there are familiar places attached to bourbon, Bourbon Street in New Orleans, and Bourbon County in Kentucky to name a few. Bourbon was recognized in 1964 as a “distinctive product of the United States” and has since grown significantly in popularity

Bourbon has no minimum specified period for aging, there is an exception for straight bourbon which has a minimum aging requirement of two years.

Bourbon that meets the required minimum aging of two years and has no added coloring, flavoring, or other spirits may be classified as a straight bourbon but is not required to be called as such.

DIGITS Bourbon is a 5-year-old Tennessee bourbon, the label is a photo of Scottie Pippen’s fingers splayed across the label, giving the brand an appropriately original name – DIGITS. As Scottie Pippen said, “I’ve always celebrated with bourbon, now getting to celebrate with my own is something very special to me.”

DIGITS Bourbon is aged for five years in new charred American oak barrels, blended by an expert distiller, Jordan Via. It has a profile that is noted as clean and aromatic with vanilla bean, caramel, buttered toast, and maple. No rough edges are noted

Bourbon is a product of numerous essential steps to complete and is distinct from other whiskeys it is aged and manufactured.

The Bourbon-Making Process

Determine the mash bill which will be done by an expert distiller. He will first determine the recipe (mash bill) of different grains to use for a bourbon creation.

They then combine the base ingredients to make a fermentable base, which should be 51% corn if sold in the United States. Heating and stirring the mixture ensuring it is well combined and ready to ferment.

Fermentation then takes place by storing the base mixture in vats for a specified amount of time to fully ferment the mixture. They will then take the mixture and strain it only using the liquid ethanol.

Distillation will heat and vaporize the liquid purifying it, majority of bourbons are distilled twice, the first requiring distillation in a beer still. The second involves distillation in heated copper stills.

The aging and barreling process can allow a distiller to decide how the barrel will affect their bourbon by deciding the degree to which the oak barrel or oak container is charred.

The final steps are dilution and bottling giving you a final product like DIGITS Bourbon. Only once the spirit is bottled it stops aging.
